New Mobile Access Makes Switching Supplier Easier Than Ever

new mobile access makes switching supplier easier than ever

A new quote engine designed specifically for mobile telephones will make it easier and quicker than ever for businesses to switch energy suppliers.

The mobile switching service, launched by The Energy Advice Line, will enable business leaders and decision makers to obtain energy quotes and switch suppliers while on the move.

Julian Morgan, managing director of the price comparison, switching and advice service, said the new technology reflected increasing demand for quick, easy and seamless switching.

“It also reflects the fact that a significant proportion of our customers are working on the go, and are submitting information from their mobile phones, “ Mr Morgan said.

“The most modern mobile phones with larger screens have made it possible for us to develop a compatible, user-friendly version of our quote engine that caters to the busy lives of our business energy customers.

“Figures still show that the vast majority of businesses stick with their energy supplier year after year – and crucially, miss out on savings year after year – because they are too busy running their businesses to deal with the issue.

“We hope this new technology will make it easier than ever for these business energy users to shop around for the cheapest deals and switch. You could do it in a taxi on the way to a meeting, or while waiting for a plane at the airport.”

The new quote engine specifically for mobile phones allows users to generate an energy quote by simply inputting their postcode.

After selecting the best deal, customers input five basic details, after which an adviser will call them back immediately to go through the tariff and arrange the switch.

“The forms have been deliberately kept as simple as possible – clear and basic – to make the whole process quick and easy,” Mr Morgan said.

“It’s never been more simple and convenient – or more important, given the price of energy at the moment – to regularly shop around and switch to the cheapest deals.”

The Energy Advice Line is a consumer champion and an independent price comparison and switching service for householders and small and medium-sized businesses. The service enables consumers to quickly and simply compare electricity and gas prices, and to switch to the best available deal on the market.

The service also offers free advice and a contract management service, including alerts to remind business consumers users when their fixed-term energy contracts are about to end.
